MS Teams is one of the most popular unified collaboration tools. But when you have a video conference call with several participants where all incl. you have webcam on and make a screensharing, can have a significant impact on the performance of your labtop. Even if you have a MacBook Pro 16 inch with Core i9 CPU and 32GB Memory comes to his limits.
I find some useful tatics to avoid performance issues
- Turn off Incomming Video. You can not only turn off your video in a conference call but also the videos from the other participants. This turn off only the video from your point of view. The other participants can still see each other.

2. Look in Activity Monitor (MacOS) or Taskmanager to identify other task that comsume to much resources.
3. Turn Off the Microsoft Onedrive Tool. In my Case when sync of large files is in progress while MS Meeting, this can slow down your laptop a lot.
4. Turn off your own video if neccessary.
